Dr. Susan N. Umeozor

Dr. Susan N. Umeozor is the immediate past University Librarian, University of Port Harcourt. She holds a B.A. degree in Psychology from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, USA in 1985, Master’s in Library Science (MLS) from North Carolina Central University, Durham, USA in 1987, PGDE from University of Port Harcourt in 1998, and Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from University of Uyo in 2011. Dr. Susan N. Umeozor started her career in 1992 as an academic librarian in Donald E.U.Ekong Library, University of Port Harcourt. She has contributed immensely to the growth and development of the University library, having served the library and the University in various capacities. She rose through the ranks and was appointed the University Librarian, the University of Port Harcourt from January 2016 to January 2021. She has been an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Library and Information Science, Faculty of Education, University of Port Harcourt. Dr. Susan N. Umeozor has published widely in both local and international journals. She has also attended several national and international conferences and workshops including “Managing University Libraries for Online Education”, Galilee International Management Institute, Galilee College, Galilee, Israel in 2013, and “Specialized Training for University Librarians of Nigerian Universities”, Oxford Academy, Oxford, United Kingdom in 2019. Dr. Susan N. Umeozor is a Chartered Librarian, Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria, Member, Nigerian Library Association, Member, Association of Women in Librarianship, Member, American Library Association; Member, Bodleian Libraries, Oxford, United Kingdom. She is married to Professor Odidika C. Umeozor of the Department of Animal and Environmental Biology, Faculty of Sciences, University of Port Harcourt. The marriage is blessed with children.
